    FAQs:

  • What is a Limited Scope Firm?

With only three Senior Management Functions (SMF) and no Prescribed Responsibilities, as a Limited Scope firm your obligations are less than that of Core and Enhanced firms.

However, you will still have to identify which of your staff members will fall into the new senior managers regime and the certification regime. You will also see a significant change to the templates and forms that you currently use, as well new annual training requirements. Scroll down for our options for Limited Scope Firms.

  • What is a Core Firm?

With six new Senior Management Functions (SMF) and five new Prescribed Responsibilities, as a Core Firm your obligations are significant.

Firms first priority will be to identify which staff members will fall into the new senior managers regime and also the certification regime. You must then create a new statement of responsibilities document for your SMFs, as well as consider what needs to be done to ‘map’ Significant Influence Functions onto the new SMFs. In addition to this you must then consider your new annual training obligations.

  • What is an Enhanced Firm?

As an Enhanced Firm, your obligations are more onerous than Limited Scope or Core Firms, with 17 new Senior Management Functions (SMF) and 12 new Prescribed Responsibilities.

A firm’s first priority will be to identify which staff members will fall into the new senior managers regime and also the certification regime. You must then create a new statement of responsibilities document for your SMFs, as well as consider what needs to be done to ‘map’ Significant Influence Functions onto the new SMFs. In addition to this you must then consider your new annual training obligations.
